Prof. Lucy Reed

Lucy Reed is Director of the Centre for International Law and Professor on the Law Faculty of the National University of Singapore.  A specialist in international dispute resolution, Prof Reed sits regularly as arbitrator in commercial and investment treaty disputes.  Before joining NUS in 2016, she was a partner in the New York, Hong Kong and Singapore offices of the international law firm Freshfields, where she led the international arbitration group.  While with the US State Department Legal Adviser’s Office, she served as the US Agent to the Iran-US Claims Tribunal.  She later served as general counsel of the International Organization KEDO, in which capacity she led negotiations with North Korea. Prof Reed currently is a member of the ABLI Governing Board, the SIAC Court and the US Council on Foreign Relations, and was President of the American Society of International Law.  A US-qualified lawyer, she holds degrees from the University of Chicago Law School and Brown University.
