Joy Fuyuno is currently Asia Regional Senior Counsel, Digital Transformation & Privacy at Microsoft Corporation, based in Singapore. Prior to taking on this role in September 2017, Joy was the Director of Competition Law for Asia for Microsoft for over 6 years.
Joy has specialized in competition law for over 20 years and has been based in Asia for over 12 years. She has extensive experience in competition law counseling, governmental investigations, and litigation in the US and Asia with respect to unilateral conduct, distribution issues, merger review, and cartels. Before joining Microsoft in 2011, Joy was a partner at White & Case LLP in Tokyo.
Joy regularly contributes to American Bar Association (ABA), International Bar Association and US Chamber comments on competition law developments and procedures in Asia, and is a frequent speaker on these and other competition law topics. Joy has served in the leadership of the Antitrust Section of the ABA for twelve years and is currently a member of the Procedural Fairness Task Force and Divergence in Dominance Task Force. She is a founding member of the Asia Competition Association. Joy was featured as one of Global Competition Review’s “100 Women in Antitrust” in 2013 and was recently recognized by The Asian Lawyer as a leading in-house counsel in emerging markets.
Joy is admitted to the California bar and graduated from Stanford University and Columbia Law School.
